REGISTER NOW: NTE 2024 is just around the corner!

The New Trends of Electrification 2024 – Heavy Traffic event will take place on Thursday, November 28th, 2024, in Malski, Lahti. The event is free of charge and open to all companies and organizations interested in green electrification. 
 
This year, NTE is focusing on the electrification of heavy-duty vehicles, highlighting the latest trends and possibilities in this rapidly evolving field. Whether you're an industry veteran or just getting started, NTE 2024 offers valuable insights for everyone.

The event is organized together with Lahti GEM - Green Electrification of Mobility Cluster, Lahti Region Development LADEC Ltd, LUT Universities, Kempower Oyj and Electric Mobility Research Center EMRC.

Speakers 
 

One of the main speakers is Timo Nurmi, Head of Communications at Posti, the first Finnish logistics company. Nurmi will discuss Posti’s vision and future outlook on the electrification of heavy traffic.

Jani Ekman, Head of Strategy & PMO at Neste, Marketing & Services, will also be one of the main speakers, adding his expertise to the discussion.

Stefan Büchele, Head of International Cooperation at e-mobil BW (representing Cluster Electric Mobility South-West, coordinated by e-mobil BW) from Baden-Württemberg, Germany, will also be featured. Known for its vast international networks spanning Europe, North America, and Asia, this cluster is at the forefront of global electrification efforts. Jussi Vanhanen, Chief Marketing Officer at Kempower, will discuss e.g. the Heavy Electric Traffic Ecosystem (HETE) project, launched in May 2024. HETE is an R&D initiative focused on developing innovative DC fast-charging technology for heavy-duty vehicles, with the goal of driving sustainable electrification of heavy traffic.

Jukka Ruusunen, Industry Professor at LUT School of Energy Systems, will provide a comprehensive look at the development of the electrical system as a whole. Risto Ojala, Assistant Professor at Aalto University and head of the Autonomy & Mobility Laboratory, will explore the electrification and automation of heavy-duty vehicles.

You will also hear from Marko Antila, Senior Scientist at VTT, and a specialist from PBI, who will explore the concept of Green Corridors. PBI is a Finnish consultancy renowned for their work in industrial investments and transport innovations.

The event will be opened by Päivi Antikainen, Director of the Climate and Environment Unit at the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The host of the event is Sami Sykkö, a well-known journalist, TV personality, and LUT University Professor of Practice.
